Raw material cost is also on the higher side, increasing by almost 20% to 25% due to cotton holding without excess demand. It is a well-known fact that the garment sector is the highest employed after agriculture but still we do not obtain the merited priority and it is difficult to understand how the trade and the people involved in it will sustain. The US dollar is also affecting the business. The package of Rs 6,000CR announced by the government is not going to help now as not one wants to expand the business due to these factors.”
